The Bill amends the UPDF Act, Cap. 330 to: - Streamline Defence Forces structures. - Establish health care services and a medical board. - Define service offences, courts martial, military courts, and the Reserve Force. - Restructure courts martial, set their jurisdiction, and ensure independence. - Provide for appeals and limited civilian trials under military law. - Create a Military Courts Department and a disciplinary unit. - Prescribe arms and ammunition reserved exclusively for the Defence Forces.
